Born in Plaisance, Guyana, on December 12, 1931, Verni was the embodiment of love, compassion, and generosity. She was a beacon of strength and warmth, a source of unyielding support for her family and all who had the privilege to know her. Her life was a testament to the verse from the Book of Proverbs, "She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy," (Proverbs 31:20), a reflection of her faith as an Episcopalian. Verni's loving spirit was the heart of her family and her community. Her greatest joy was seeing her loved ones happy, often saying, "I am as happy as my unhappiest child." She was a nurturing figure in health care, dedicating her career to providing home health care services. Verni's generosity, both in spirit and in action, was boundless. Her radiant smile and open arms were always ready to embrace anyone in need, making a profound impact on those fortunate to be in her presence. Verni was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Wilda (Ian) Shealy-Forbes, Wilfred (Ramona) Wills, Wilma (William) Bunbury, Waveney Boyd, Wibert (Germaine) Wills, her step-son Mutema (Rosaline) Adeobe and step-daughter Northleen Thornhill. She was a beloved grandmother to Ronald, Alicia, Brittany, Danielle (Joseph), Shannon, Shayne, Micah, Luke, Shadde, Anthony, Amolli, Kwame, Monique, Kwesie, and Reginald. Verni's legacy will continue through her great-grandchildren, Kelicia, Alvah, Zoie, Zack, Aiden (Ian), Darien, Briel, Layah, Destiny, Carter, Beverly, Darren, Allan, Adeola, Kwamel, Chinya, Kylah, Kahleah, Kamira, King, Jada, Amaya, LaToya, Tracey, Carlon, and Shaquille. Predeceased by her parents, William and Daphne Bowry, and her beloved husband, Wilfred Wills, Verni's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
