LOLITA GLOVER-BANKSTHE BEGINNING...A time to be born.Lolita was born on October 29, 1971, in Valhalla, New York to the late William Brooks and Tina Glover. She was the youngest child of four.
LIFE'S JOURNEY...A time to live, a time to love and a time to rejoice.Lolita's Christian experience began at an early age at Mt. Hope AME Zion Church, White Plains, NY. She later rededicated her life to Christ and was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church. She loved listening to gospel music. Her favorite song was "Something About the Name Jesus" by Rance Allen.
Lolita graduated from White Plains High School, Class of 1989 and attended Berkley College to pursue a degree in Social Work. She worked for many years at the Urban League as a Program Coordinator. Lolita found love and married Andre Banks on December 8, 2016.
Lolita was known to many as "Baby Lo." She was the life of every party and she loved to cook. She was always looking for a reason to celebrate, whether it was a community BBQ or a spades night. She always had a smile on her face that lit up the room, food in her hand and a dance in her step.
Lolita was a very loving and caring person. She would do anything for others; often going out of her way. Despite her health challenges, she gave to anyone in need, whether it was a plate of food, a place to stay, or an ear to listen. When her health started to decline, and she was no longer able to work, she spent time doing what she loved most which was being surrounded by her family and helping raise her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
While in the hospital, she always had a joke to tell and the tea of the town. Over the years, Lo fought a good fight. She had shown insurmountable strength in the battles she fought; and had courage that most couldn't comprehend.
GOING HOME...A time to mourn.Lolita departed this earthly life after a courageous fight on February 27, 2022, peacefully at home. She will be sorely missed! Now she is with her best friend, her brother Mike.
Lolita leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, Andre; Mother Tina Glover Thomas (Kim); sons, Duane Hayes, Renal Hayes; daughter, Lashanae Amaker; grandchildren, Emmanuel, Blessing and Shiloh Hayes; brother, James "Tony" Glover (Ruth); sister, Felecia Glover-Hudson (Rowland). A host of nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, cousins and friends. Lolita was preceded in death by her father William and brother Michael Glover.
