James Arthur Roberson, Sr. Obituary (1928 - 2018)

James Arthur Roberson, Sr. (better known) as Jimmy was born in Scotland County, North Carolina on February 10th, 1928 to the late Louise Roberson. Jimmy departed this life on September 1, 2018 at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He attended schools in North Carolina. Jimmy also served in the Korean War. Upon returning he migrated to Baltimore, MD and then to Yonkers, NY. He married Nettie Savage and from that union there were four children, Deborah, James, Jr. (Jimmy), Patricia and David. He worked at Jack & Jill Diaper Service, First American Artificial Flower Co, General Motors, Continental Bus Company and the Yonkers School District before his retirement. Jimmy was a faithful member of St. John's Lodge #7 New York City. Jimmy had a special way of touching everyone he came in contact with and making them feel loved. He was a friend to everyone, always willing to give a ride, fix a car, lend a helping hand or give advice. He was never to busy and never said NO! Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, his wife, Nettie, his daughter Deborah (Clyde), his son, James, Jr. (Teresa), his daughter Patricia (Stan) and his son David; his 9 grandchildren; Courtney (Brian), Gemma, Patrice, David, Rameal, Michael, Maria, Bianca, Rashad; 3 great grandchildren Jada, Mikayla, and Cameron, 3 Sister in-laws, Louise Alexander, Bernice Parker, Mattie Savage, 1 Brother in- law Ed Savage, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Carolyn Roberson, Thomas Logan and James Allen to whom he was a father figure and a devoted friend to the Rock Family. Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother Louise Roberson Duncan, his stepfather, Tom Duncan, his adopted mother, Pearl Roberson, his beloved Aunt Maggie Dixon, his Uncle LeRoy Roberson, his brother Wadell Roberson, and sisters Minnie Roberson, Lula Lyons, Christine Roberson, Magdalene Roberson and Mary Ann Whitt. REST IN PEACE
