We would like to begin by thanking everyone, family, and friends for loving our dad Elmer Williams.
Elmer was a kind-hearted person who loved life. Elmer began his life self supporting himself as a young teenager in the early 1970's. He loved people, having good times and was good at sports, especially football.
Many knew Elmer because of his unique nickname "Babo." It was given to him by his father. Elmer would give you his nickname first if you met him. He loved music and was a big sports fan and would dress up in jerseys and other sports clothing.
He was the son of the late Mable Williams; the brother of Karl Williams; the father of Mariah, Jarvis and my sister. He was also the grandfather of Angela, Josiah, Amiyah, and a granddaughter on the way in 2018.
Everybody knew our dad, Elmer, and I'm sure that he touched your lives, as ours, in many different ways. Our dad had to make many difficult decisions in his life that he was not proud of, but he made them in the best interest of all people involved, especially his children.
Whenever we needed him, our dad always made himself available. Most people may have thought that he should have done more, but he did his best. My dad always tried and strived to be a better person. We are sure that he wouldn't want us feel sorry about him leaving us and this world, because he is at peace and has gone on to in a better place and to watch over his mother, Mable Williams.
John 14:1-3 Says:
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
We love you dad and you will be deeply missed. May your soul find rest in His Kingdom until we meet again.
~Your Loving, Children, Grandchildren and Brother ~
