Arthur R. Sneed, born on February 18, 1933, in Albany, GA, USA, passed away on February 3, 2025. A supportive, dedicated, and reliable man, Arthur epitomized resilience throughout his life. He resided in White Plains, New York, where he served his community as a dedicated postal worker for over 30 years, a job he held with pride and commitment.
Arthur was a man of many passions. He enjoyed the simplicity and strategic nature of bowling, the tranquility of fishing, and the competitive spirit of golf. He was also an active member of the Bright Hope Lodge #62, which he joined on July 11, 1980. His dedication to this fellowship was a testament to his enduring faith and commitment to service.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Ethel Sneed, his son, Eric Wayne Sneed (Antoinette), his daughter, Arethea Sneed-Elder, and his in-laws Shirley Robinson, Rebecca Shaw, Oliva Harvey, and Henry Addison, Larry Holmes, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sneed and Cora Haywood Sneed, his daughter Pamela Lee Holmes, his son Arthur LeRoy Sneed, granddaughter Barbara Areise Sneed and his son-in-law Bernard Elder.
We take comfort in the words of the Bible, which resonate with Arthur's life and Baptist faith: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7).
We invite you to share your memories of Arthur and upload photos to his memorial page. His life was one of love, service, and commitment, and your stories will help us all remember the extraordinary man that he was.
