Allen absolutely, adored his wife and son. This wasevident to all who knew him.Allen was a longtime resident of the town of Greenburgh andbecame a staple in the community. He was known best for hisfamous "Pound Cake". People called him for all specialoccasions for one of Mr. Gorley's good ol' Pound Cakes. Allenloved his community. The Gorley household was always the place to be for a goodtime and good food. Allen worked for Southern WestchesterBOCES for most of his adult life. He was loved by all whoworked with him. They referred to him as "Big Daddy" on thejob. He embraced that love and often wore T-Shirts related tohis size or larger than life personality.Allen was a jokester. If you knew him, you could not sitaround him for any period of time without laughing, hysterically. Allen could make a joke out of anything, but youknew, if he talked about you, he really loved you. Many peopleknew him from seeing that big old Buick ride down the streetbeeping the horn or his distinct deep voice shouting "Hey Babyor Hey Man". Allen wasn't the best with names but if he knewyou, you knew it. He would pick a person up and give them a
ride in a minute if he was able. That is the kind of person hewas. In his later years, Allen struggled with kidney failure anddialysis but made the best of his time on earth. He was adevoted father and husband who knew the Lord. You wouldoften hear him listening to one of his favorite artists MarvinWinan and singing to the top of his lungs in "Some type ofBaritone Voice".Allen left this world too soon and was taken from his family inan unimaginable way but it was God's will to call him homeand we The Gorley Family are comforted in knowing that to beabsent from the body is to be present with the Lord. In themidst of our hurt and pain, we know that we will see our father, husband, family member and friend again, IN THE NAMEOF JESUS, AMEN.Allen was predeceased by his mother (Geneva Martin) & father(Willie Gorley).
